DEBS TIME

DEBS TIME

FINDING THAT SPECIAL DRESS.
Every girl wants to feel amazing in her debs dress, its the last gathering of school mates and a time to make a lasting impression on everyone. So choose your dress wisely. It can be a daunting task finding the right shape ,style and color but there is lots of dresses to choose from.

Before you go dress shopping, do some market research and have a look in magazines or online to see what is available.Or alternatively you can choose to get your dress custom made, this can be an expensive option so I would shop around first.Bring your underwear and shoes with you when going shopping as you will have a better idea of the finished look.

Cork is home to some great shops which carry a wide variety of debs wear ,here is some that spring to mind, Debenhems,Rouge,TK Max,The Moderne,The Dress Bar,Monsoon,Fran and Jane and there is lots more.

Some shops will write down where your debs is on to avoid selling it to another person in same class so ask if this service is available.

ACCESSORIES.
Keep your accessories simple, less is often more, pearls are always one of my favorites. Have a reasonable sized clutch which will hold your lippy and and all your girly bits.If wearing skin color tights, try them on before hand so you know the color will match.Have an extra pair in case of emergencies
Wear your shoes a few days before to loosen them out and get the feel of them ,nothing worse than crippling toes.

HAIR AND MAKE UP
Book your hair and make up in advance to avoid disappointment .Have an idea of the style you would like, magazines are great for ideas so keep a look out for a style and take picture in with you. Some times a trial may be a good idea if you are extra fussy but most of the time there is no need.
Keep your make up young and fresh looking, avoid caking it on as it will just make you look older and not natural.Keep eyes and lips a neutral shade or go all Dita Von Teese with red lips and pale boudoir make up.It will all depend on what color you are wearing, what make up you do.

Once all preparations are done sit back ,relax and look forward to your big night.Lay out your bits the night before so its a case of just slipping them on. Have a good rest the night before and drink water to avoid tired eyes and skin.

Finally enjoy your big night , have lots of fun and be drink aware.Have a fab night everyone xx

LETS GET PACKING

Lets be truthful and admit it ,we are all guilty of over packing , whether its a weekend away or a sun holiday for a week we have all done it at some stage. Being women its only human nature to take everything with us just in case.
I have learned that travelling lighter and that  by having a packing plan you can be alot more successful.

HERE IS SOME TIPS

Plan your outfits before you even start packing.Keep your bed free so you can lay down your ensembles together

Deciding factors on what your bringing should be to do with your holiday location, weather, season etc. Consider everything you might be doing.

I always think of shoes first , have a comfy day pair that will work for casual wear and have a night time pair for dinner and more glam outfits, have a spare pair of gladiators which will take you from day into night.

Take multifunctional garments which can be dressed up or down such as maxi, mini or midi dresses and skirts. They are great for both day and night and are generally light and cool.

Colour code your outfits.Choose garments which will work with one and other. One basic cardigan should be sufficient for evenings.

Rolling your garments can create more room and also avoid creasing.

Use a see through wash bag with separate compartments , its easier to find all your toiletries and you can see what you have packed.

Skin colour seamless underwear is generally good so grab some neutral undies they will work with most outfits.

You will more than likely be wearing your swimsuit or bikini most of the time during the day so have a few bikinis to choose from.Pack a sarong as it can double it up as a scarf or shawl for the evening time.

Delegate certain items to all your travelling companions, eg hair appliances.

Accessories should be neutrals either silver or gold will work with most of your cloths.

Before zipping up give a final glance and have one last clear out of any bits you really do not need.

Take a safe secure handbag with multi pockets to keep all your personal belongings safe and easy to find.

When it comes to animal print, you are either a lover or a hater. I have gotta say I love it .This Summer its hitting our shops in all different shapes and forms from Maxi dresses to Shorts, to Bikinis to Tops to Bags.

Animal print can look great when its put together right.

Here is some tips on teaming up matching and accessorising your animalistic outfit.

Add white in form of a shirt , top , jacket or an accessory such as a belt, it breaks up the look and keeps you not looking to in touch with nature.

Add gold accessories in form of a belt or jewels, bangles add a girly feminine festival feel to Animal prints.

Denim jackets are great for a day look , team up with your animal print dress and enjoy .
